We got a invitation in our mailbox to go to a neighbohood wine and cheese party. It just gives the people's name and address-no RSVP on it. We have a neighborhood of about 25 houses. Question- it says please join us for wine and cheese. Do we take some wine? Do we take anything?
We don't know the people well- just enough o say hello in the neighborhood. Party is Sunday night. Please help!

Sounds like just a friendly get together to chat and meet the neighbors. Seems like fun.

I would take a bottle of wine if I planned to attend.

I would bring something. A bottle of wine a nice box of chocolates or something home-baked would be nice. Just a small token of your appreciation for hosting the get together. Sounds like a nice evening, have a great time! :)

These are fun events! I would either bring a bottle of wine, or a cold 6 pack of a nice beer (something fun like a Spotted Cow) because not everyone likes wine.

For the record...I am from Wisconsin...and I like beer! :goodvibes

Well I think it sounds like a fun time, though I dont drink wine;) I would say bring some sort of dessert(plate of cookies or brownies etc..)

But most of all..don't arrive early..because according to another thread the hostess will find it rude if you arrive early;)

Please no bashing posts..just trying to have a little fun;)

:rotfl2:Touche!

If the invitation did not direct you to bring wine or cheese, then the party refreshments are being provided by your hosts. Bringing wine, or any other gift should be clearly presented as a host/ess gift and not a contribution to the party.

Some people are offended at the implication that you would need to "improve" upon their offerings of food and drink (trust me, seen this happen with pretty unpleasant results) so be sure to pair your gift with a thank you card.

Go, enjoy the wine and cheese, and even if wine is not your favorite beverage, you may find a new label that you like! Otherwise, look at it as a time to mingle with your neighbors.

Take care now and have a great time!
