Question for you canadians re: the Olympics

I thought the opening ceremony was awesome....enough so that I would love to purchase a CD with all the music from it. Anyone know if there is such a thing being marketed?

Haven't seen or heard from Bryan Adams since I was in high school...it was great to hear him again. I have also been wracking my brain for what movie the Hallelujah song is from that K.D. Lang sang.

Any help?

No help on the CD, and I am sure it is in many movies, but my youngest dd Hallelujah from Shrek was her calming song.

On a side note the new version that is from the Haiti relief CD by Justin Timberlake is very good also.

Not sure whether there's a CD..I am sure they won't miss the opportunity to sell the music tho! I saw the 'Canadian Tenors' sing that song on Oprah last week and they did it beautifully also. I know it was in the movie Shrek lol...

Our friend is a Captain for Air Canada. He brought Bryan Adams back on his flight from London last week. Said he sat in Executive class with a black scarf bundled around his whole head for the entire flight. Good thing it was him or I am sure he would have been taken off!!!! Doesn't take much to unnerve folks these days!

Canadian iTunes has a collection Sounds of Vancouver 2010: Opening ceremony . It appears to have everything (instrumental and big names) minus KD Lang but perhaps it will be added.

It's an old Leonard Cohen song....been around and around for many years. That might be why it's familiar.


BTW.... Did anyone else think the version of O Canada stunk??? I love the I Believe song that girl does but O Canada should be strong and powerful.

www.chapters.indigo.ca sells the cd of the opening ceremonies and I think it will also be available in Chapter and Indigo stores in Canada. You would think I work for Chapters!!!! ----I DO!!!

You can find the kd Lang version of the Leonard Cohen song on the CD "Hymns of the 49th Parallel". She covers other great Canadian songs on that album. I think she does the best version of that song, but Rufus Wainwright's version on the Shrek soundtrack is pretty good too (another Canadian!)
