We have been visiting WDW since 2003 and have been DVC members since '07and each time we have visited WDW was different times of the year, Winter, Sring, Summer and Fall. We were able to make the trips due to the kids ages and times that they had off from school.
Now that we have all three in school we have decided not to take them out of school during the school year and will go to WDW when they get out of school for vacation.
My question is for you WDW experts and Fla. locals is about westher in June compared to August? We went in 2007 in mid August and man was it hot, there wasn't a day that was below 105 degrees.
So is it just as hot at the end of June than August? We did fine in August took many breaks, lots and lots of water but, when it's that hot it just wears on you.

we have been both times and really prefer June. I don't think its as crowded and not as hot.

I'd try to go on another time they have off from school-like President's week
or even the first week of January?

The earlier in the summer you can go, the better it will be with crowds and weather.

Of course, now that I just typed that on the internet that may not be true much longer! ;)

Having lived in Florida for the past 35 years I can say that summer here starts on May 1 and ends October 30. ;)

June is a bit better than August. It's usually drier than August and earlier in the hurricane season. The temperatures are about the same. Crowd levels are somewhat lower in early June.

Stay warm!

I was just about to ask this question myself.

We can't pull dd out of school for a week to avoid the crowds and the heat (she's in high school and missing one day of school for her asthma leads to all sorts of problems bec the teachers refuse to give her the missing work, so a week is absolutely unthinkable).

So our option is to go in mid-late June as well, but we're hesitating bec of the crowds and the heat.

Sigh.

Haha, I was just going to say that it is hotter in August. But, it is probably my imagination. By the time August gets here, I am so sick of being hot and sweaty that it just feels 10 degrees hotter.
Either way, you are going to be hot. It seems to rain less in June, though.

June is hot and humid, make no mistake. However, August is hotter and more humid.

June can see just as much rain as August, but generally August will have more rain (as in, on a daily basis).

If June works better for your schedule, go as early in June as you can. There will be somewhat less capacity the earlier in June you go. Once you hit the end of June all schools, colleges and unis are out for the summer (except for those students taking summer courses).

We've been to FL 3 times in June and it always seems to get hotter around the official first day of summer. This year we flew home on June 21 and I swear someone turned on the humidity the morning we left.
