Question for VWL owners?

If you own VWL, where do you USUALLY book?

We book VWL 75% of the time, but we truly do enjoy aspects of every DVC resort and take advantage of this on the other 25% of our trips.

I suspect this is pretty common after the newness has worn off. I think that most SSR people really like SSR and will be staying there more and more, yet as a lot do, will move around from time to time depending on the trip.

I just love the variety here!

We've always booked VWL when we're at Disney, but we have had one trip to HHI (which was wonderful). Since VWL does not have 3 bedrooms, I do think we may do other resorts some day as our kids get older and we need more room if they bring friends.

We first bought at VWL with every intention of staying mostly at the VWL. But, one stay at OKW lead to an OKW resale for us and now we mostly pool all the points from both contracts and stay at OKW.

While I own at VWL, I didn't vote because I've yet to take my first trip. However, my first trip is planned at VWL. My second trip will probably be either OKW or BCV depending on whether extended family comes (OKW because of less points) or not (BCV if we can get it). I will probably stay at various resorts, but at VWL more often than the others.

We own at VWL and stay there 75% of the time. Only other resorts we have tried are OKW and SSR. We appreciate the things all DVC resorts have to offer. But VWL is home away from home for us.

We own at both VWL (150pts) and BCV (72pts) and (so far) have used the points to stay where we own. I can't see us not staying at VWL, but I can see us using the BCV points to stay somewhere else - although you can't beat the location, we much prefer the VWL theme.

We own at VWL, but have only stayed there once in our four years as members. We have now stayed at all of the DVC resorts (wanted to try all of them out), and have our next stay planned for July at VWL. We will probably stay at different resorts depending on the circumstances of the trip. If we go during the Food and Wine Festival, we prefer to stay either at BCV or BWV. If the grandparents are with us, we prefer to stay at either OKW or SSR. If we are looking for a beach trip, rather than WDW, we will stay at either VB or HHI. If we are looking for something completely different, we will use the Concierge Collection (going to Tanque Verde Ranch and the Arizona Biltmore next week!). Although the VWL is really our favorite, I guess we also like variety!

We only own 50 points at VWL and I find myself trying to use those up at our larger BWV reservations whenever I can. The bookkeeping can be a real pain in the neck! One of these days we will try to transfer a larger reservation to VWL at the 7 month window but for right now we mostly book BWV.

We bought in in June of 2001. We have been to VWL twice, BCV once and Vero twice.. with a current vacation planned for 9 more nights at VWL and 3 at Vero.

We thought BCV was nice, but it just wasn't HOME to us.. and we can't wait to go back home. 73 more days!

I only have 60 points at VWL (my main member is OKW) - I love it for those Dec trips - the whole place is decorated and it doesn't look real - it is too lovely

although a few times it was summer - July 4 - just staying there make the summer seem colder....

I have only used VWL at VWL so far.

Like most of the other posters so far, we tend to use our VWL points to stay at VWL. There's just something about that resort!

Like Spiceycat, we bought 60 VWL points to use pretty much exclusively there, and usually it will be Dec. Nothing like it! Our main points are at BCV, and with those we've also stayed at BWV and will be trying OKW and SSR.

It's my least favorite, for the same reason! But it's where we usually stay.

I wonder if there are more "away from home" stays for VWL because it can be difficult to get sometimes?

The one piece of advice we got when we were planning to make our purchase was..buy where you want to stay the most.. and we did. We love the Wilderness Lodge. Now that's not to say we don't stay at other resorts as well, but the Wilderness Lodge is home!

We've booked 4 DVC trips so far. We've stayed at HH, VB, then VWL. We also, due to the 11-month booking, gave my parents a stay at VWL. In the future, we plan on staying at some of the other DVC resorts (although we loved HH and VB).
