We will be visiting WDW next month and I would like to attend a spring training game for the Dodgers in VB. I have never been to Holman Stadium, and I am looking for a seat that is in the shade. Does anybody have any suggestions about VB seating? I have seen very few pictures, and from what I can tell there is little shade to speak of.

Thanks!

From what I remember you are going to have a pretty hard time getting a seat in the shade. You could get lawn seats and then take an umbrella. I went to a game when I was 9 months pregnant with DD and this was in the month of March and I baked!

We went last year and had a good time but we were ROASTING... I don't remember any part of the stadium being in the shade

Thanks for your thoughts. That it how it looks from all of the pictures I have seen, so I can at least be thankful that most of the games are at 10:00 in the morning.

I've looked at the layout and some pictures, and I'm pretty sure you're going to be in the sun. That's sort of the nature of small ballparks -- they don't have upper decks to provide shade.

Here's a link to the Dodgers' March spring training schedule. http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=la&m=3&y=2008

You'll note they are only going to be in Vero through March 17. After that, they'll be in Arizona and CA.

Yeah...provided you are watching on TV from the Left Coast. The schedule times are Pacific Time, so if you're at the ballpark in Vero, that would be 1 PM Eastern Time. Sorry.

NOOO! In that case, perhaps I will just drive to Chain of Lakes Park to see the Indians. That stadium does have shade (thanks to a roof) and it is much closer to Disney.

They do play night games too. That would be considered shade no? Otherwise, you're out of luck during daytime hours.

We're going over to Melbourne to see the Nationals and someone I think Easter Monday.

edit: The someone is the Tigers(DH's favorite team). Why else would we be going!

And if you want to see the Dodgers in Vero Beach, better get there this year because after 61 years at Vero Beach they are headed to Arizona next year for spring training.
