Question for those who participate in DIS Exchanges

If you participate in the DIS Exchanges, do you personally thank the person who sends to you? By personally I mean do you send a PM or a personal note or do you just acknowledge the person on the sent/received thread?

I usually send a PM along with acknowledgement on the boards.

I always send a PM to thank them AND usually a note (but I usually send a little surprise ).

And acknowledge on the thread...........that's how us organizer keep track

I've only done the calendar, postcard, and holiday card exchanges, but I usually sent a PM, and if I had an address, then a personal note or postcard too.

I have done a few exchanges, and I always post on the sent/received thread so everyone involved can see that I got a surprise! I also send a personal thank you (PM) to the sender to let them know how much I appreciated my surprise!

Well, as someone who's participated in 2 exchanges and wound up with nothing both times, I can tell you it's really nice to get a PM thank you from the person you sent something to. I received a very nice card from my exchangee in the T-shirt exchange and it really meant a lot to me.

In the exchanges I've participated in, I send either a thank you PM or email (or both) and acknowledge on the thread.

When I have organized the Ornament exchange I have asked people to post on the thread once it's started because I need to keep track of who has and hasn't gotten their ornament so that I can get on the sender or make contact at least with the sender. And I do try to encourage them to make contact with the person that sent to them once they receive so that the person knows it was received if they didn't see the thread.
