Question for those who just purchased SSR

If you recently purchased SSR, what are your plans for the use of your points?

I voted that I plan to try all DVC resorts. My first DVC trip is next month and I wanted to stay 'home. Eventually I'd like to be able to try them all. However, if at the 7 month window I am unable to get another resort, SSR will be just fine.

We like all of the DVC resorts for different reasons. We stay at the resort depending on what we plan to do with that vacation. If we don't plan on using the parks a lot and it's not really hot, we like OKW or SSR. If we plan on spending a lot of time at MK, then VWL. If we plant to swim a lot, then we go for BCV. Sometimes our first choice isn't available, and then any of them are just fine!

It cracks me up that there seems to be an assumption that SSR purchasers are doing so just to get in the door to other resorts. (maybe that is not the case with this poll, but it has come up many times)

Some of us LIKE SSR but bought in wanting to try them all at some point. It was the whole reason we decided to buy in - the chance at variety!

Those opinions are exactly why I started this poll. Perhaps it will be an eye opener and stop some rumors.

Gottcha! I hope it works! Sometimes I feel like the ugly stepchild and we haven't even gone home yet! (and yes - my first trip is to OKW but I am not getting my beach vacation this year and felt that it would best fill in - Christmas at SSR and I can't wait!)

don't worry. SSR is and will continue to be a beautiful resort.

you should have heard and seem the comments when BWV opened - then VWL, then BCV....

there was a time here when BWV and OKW owners (some of them) - were constantly finding fault with the others resorts....

most people brought where they wanted to stay and will be very happy staying there.

there are a few who brought because they thought that was all. but not very many at all.

SSR is a lovely resort - enjoy it for the many years to come

I do think most SSR purchasers will be staying at SSR most of the time. I wonder if by the time it sells out, there might be a heavy overload on the whole DVC system if so many more folks are planning on trading to other DVC resorts. I think we have already seen some of that with the smaller resorts now. Of course, there is also the fact that a lot of folks who have been members for a long time will try to stay at the new place too! LOL, I know we did that!

We are planning on trying all of them, but I think as my kids get older and we make trips by ourselves, I will prefer SSR.

(Where I really want to stay is AKL, too bad there isn't a dvc there!!)

Yup, the way I see it is, why not try all we can? That way it is like a different experience every time you go. That being said, if for some reason you are unable to book at a different DVC, you can always go 'home'!

I think we'd like to try them all eventually. We're staying at SSR for our first trip as members this December though. We love the DTD area.

We bought in just because it was such a good deal (CM Discount). I am not terrribly excited about staying at SSR. Everyone says that pictures don't do it justice, and I hope I love it, but we look forward to staying everywhere!!

come on down! People can cry all they want...SSR is great! As I've stated yesterday, my wife really is having a great time and I'm the Disney nut.I think SSR has converted her!

I think for us it depends on what the trip is about.

If we're going for the Food and Wine festival, then BCV or BWV. If we're taking our future grandkids, then VWL for the proximity to MK. If it's family for Spring Break (next week ) then OKW. If it's adults only for relaxing and night life and shopping, then SSR.

That is the beauty of DVC to us. All the options depending on the mood!
