I'm addressing this to those who have lived in a Chatham 3-bedroom apartment, simply because I've heard a lot of "I think..." and whatnot, and I want a definite answer, lol :]

Do Chatham 3-bedroom apartments also have 3 bathrooms?

Do Chatham 3-bedroom apartments have a cable TV hook-up in each bedroom?

Thank you!

edited to add a generic Chatham question.. // Do Chatham apartments have sliding glass doors? More specifically, on the first floor?

I can answer your generic Chatham question. Unfortunately a rather poop-tastic answer. Some do and some do not. My building and the ones around me did not (25, 26, 27). I know that some of the buildings closer to the front of the complex did have sliding glass doors on the first floor. So it really depends on the building you are placed in. Sorry for the totally un-helpfulness of my answer.

Actually your answer was kind of helpful :] Now I know that everything really does vary between buildings and even individual apartments. I only asked things really specifically because I was thinking that maybe some of the people who are on here talking about the apartment maybe remembered things incorrectly, or whatever, and I just want to know how things actually are. :]

...I think it's insane that all the apartments in the same complex are not built the same. Like, that doesn't even make sense to me.

If your apartment didn't have a sliding glass door, what kind of door did it have? I'm curious now, haha] :]

The apts were quite odd. I just remembered that some of the apartments in my building did have balconies/patios. The apts on the back of the building (which faced a bayou/retention pond) had balconies and I assume sliding glass doors. But the ones that faced the street and were on the front of the building did not. I'm not positive if that was how it was in all of the buildings.

My apt was one that faced the street. We had this awkward enclosed space that was obviously meant to be a patio but for whatever reason they decided to enclose it. It just had 2 windows that faced the street. I always felt like it was wasted space.

So then did you have a larger living room? Or was it like an awkward sun porch area, that you couldn't actually access? I'm just having trouble picturing the weirdness of it all, lol :confused3

It was like an extended living room that had this archway thing. But it wasn't really wide/deep enough to fit any furniture on the walls and the long wall had windows so that wouldn't work for furniture either. We literally never used it except to set up the ironing board in and iron. It had electrical outlets on the walls. It would have been cool if we had like bean bags or something.

I have a video tour of my apt somewhere. I will locate it and post the link. Then you can see the oddity that was this.. thing.

Well during my program i had to change apartments half way through and both of them all had 3 bathrooms

not all the rooms have cable in them, my first apartment didn't have cable in one room - my room, lol but the other two did

then i changed apartments and the open bed room was one that did have cable

and both of my apartments, 3rd floor and 2nd floor had sliding doors, i did see the first floor did too

So I finally uploaded my apartment tour in case you want to see the odd balcony thingy. You can find it here

I just watched your apartment tour video :] That's definitely an awkward space.. Perfect for bean bags, like you said. Maybe if I get a balcony-less apartment, I'll have to figure out something neat to do with that area.

Thanks so much for uploading the video! :]

You can't. We took them down for inspections. You know in advance what day your inspection will be on so just take the stuff down the day before. You can have like a cork board/calender on the wall. And they never said anything about the framed picture above my bed. But we did have to take down the "guests say the darndest things" and the posters above the couch.

And the posters in the other girls' room? Ok. Good to know.

What happens if you fail inspection? You're out? At my school, if you fail inspection, you get a slip saying you failed and that they'll be back to check again.

I honestly can't remember what happened with her posters. I think she had to take them down. We were told at the housing meeting that we could have things up on the walls as long as we used 3M wall sticky things. However this was not true. So during our first inspection we were noted for that. We still passed we just didn't get a white glove award. You have to have more than just things on your walls to fail. If you fail they charge you a fee and a cleaning crew comes through. If you fail more than once I'm not sure what happens. However I don't know of a single person who failed. I know there were people who did, just not anyone I knew.

The rule against having things on the walls bugs me, especially because it's not like they care enough to ensure that each apartment is totally clean before a new group moves in. Why should I ensure that their walls are poster-free?

Ughh.
