Question for those who have already rebooked in 2021

Hello all. My family and I elected to cancel our previously scheduled June 2020 trip late last month and try for June 2021 instead. We usually stay at a Moderate (CSR on the cancelled trip), but in talking with my husband, we're contemplating a little splurge with a Deluxe next summer ... if that splurge would, indeed, be "little". For any of you that have already rebooked rooms in 2021 ... Have you noticed any big difference in the pricing yet? Or will any differences only be apparent after they release the packages, etc., later this year? I've never had to cancel and rebook a reservation so I have no experience with that time table.

I expect the rack rates will be very similar, and Disney will use discounts closer in time depending on how booking looks. That gives them more flexibility to only offer certain room types category at a discount depending on how things are selling. Right now, nobody knows if 2021 will be empty (because recession) or jam packed (because vaccine, and postponed trips). High rack rates and later discounts gives Disney more flexibility to recover profits if "jam packed" turns out to be the outcome.

Since 2021 rates have not yet been released, anyone booking for 2021 now has to book room only. You can always book room only as far out as 499 days. Those bookings require a one night room +tax deposit. The rate used will be the current (2020) rack rate for the booking category. Once the 2021 rates are released, the rate for the reservation will be adjusted to reflect the 2021 rate. You don't get a break by booking before the new rates are released.

So, to answer your question, no one can say if rates will be higher in 2021 based on what folks are booking at currently.

I have never had my rate adjusted to new pricing. Never. I always book room only with a TA.

Now if you want to apply a discount it will adjust to take the discount off the new rates.

I too have never had a room rate "adjusted" to higher pricing. We also book "room only." The rate quoted is the rate received unless a promotion/discount can be applied. Currently booked for January 2021.

The price at booking time is the price you get. They wont change your request unless you change hotels and you will get the updated pricing for that day

Thank you all for taking the time to reply. It looks like my question wasn't totally clear, though.

I guess what I was looking for was a "sneak peek" as to whether the 2021 rates were lower than this years based on others who have (yes) booked their room only reservations into next year. But as I suspected, it sounds like any info on that would have to wait until the packages, etc., come out (hopefully) in the next couple of months. So the rates that are being booked are basically the earlier established 2020 rack rates?

If you book room only for 2021, the rate you are given is your rate. It will only change if YOU change your reservation ( move to a package or change room type, etc.)
