I am hardly back from WDW and I'm planning my next Disney vacation. Yes, I am really obsessed

In August, I would go to DLP with my mom and 2 brothers. We just got some promotions, but the dates don't really accomodate us. So, my question is: what discouts do you get for hotels/ park hoppers if you're member of the shareholder's club. I am not a member yet, and because of the WDW-vacation last year, I really don't have the budget anymore, but well, if it'll save us a lot of money... I might try to do some overwork or so, to find the money.

Can someone help me with this, here or through PMs?

Thanks a lot!!

You get 10% if you book one of the 7 Disney hotels.
And you get 15% for the restaurants and in the shops!
And you get a second breakfast in the Saloon Mickey.

The most fans say that it pays of becoming a shareholder at your second visit as a shareholder!

But if you are 4 people and you take a stay that would cost 300€ (catalog price) you would save 4*30€! And if you 4 would eat a menu at Walt's (25€) you would save 4*3,75€!
The second breakfast at Saloon Mickey would save about 10€ per person!

So maybe to become a shareholder would pay of for you at the first visit?

visit?

And what do you eat there?

I am a share holder and visited Salon mickey once.
It was disgusting to see how some people grabt at every new dish that the cast members put on the table.
They filled compleed bags so they din`t have to buy food in the parks.
Also the frig with cold drinks was emptyed in seconds.
I`m ashamed to say they where Dutch people. There are (other) forums where the moderators give this " good advice" to there members.

Its was the firs and last time for us. You can`t drag my husband with a horse into Salon Mickey again.

You had a bad experience then....
You're not allowed to take the food or drink out of the salon. Not even if you opened a drink, it has to stay behind. The CM do try control this, but as they have other jobs to do some people abuse the fact of the CM being out of the room.
I have been in there about 50 times (give or take) and although seen some bad behaviour never as bad as you said.
Give it a second chance.... (You cannot judge something with 1 visit, there is nothing to compair)

Whatever your choice. Enjoy DLRP

I know but I`m not the only one that has seen and experienced this phenomenon.
My friend went in with some other friends and she saw the whole bunch transform into a groop af hyena`s, growling to each other.

I`ll buy my cup of coffee ore softdrink.

We have been about 20 times to the Saloon Mickey and we had 2 or 3 times such an experience. This will most happen during weekends or during summer season when the parks are crowded. But if you go during the week there are only some people in it and you can enjoy your stay at the Saloon. During one visit we even were alone in the Saloon and the CM took some time and had a talk with us. She even told us some of the DLRP secrets (but nothing new for a hardcore fan!) :cool1:

And even if they wouldn’t offer free drinks and snacks I would visit the Saloon Mickey every day because the atmosphere is just great. :wizard: It reminds me a little bit of the restaurant Walt’s. And the Saloon fits perfectly into Mainstreet!
So go ahead and give it a second try!!!
   :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

:wizard: They changed the rules last year to avoid this behaviour last year. So it is now officially taht you have it eat in drink within the Salon and your visits are limeted to 5 a month.
Sur there are still people taking food and drinks to the parks I only once saw it really beeing very bad.

I have only been once so far but there were several families and no one behaved that way. It is a lovely place and well worth visiting.

We went twice during our last visit to Salon Mickey and we never had any problems. I thought it was a nice calm place to start the day and it was a great feeling to have your own entrance to the park.

I think if you intend mutlipe visits to the parks then being a member of the shareholder's club is more than worthwhile.

The membership is sure worthwhile.
Your just lukey that there where no Dutch people in the Salon.
Mostly I keep it a secret that I`m Dutch to. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

We went to Salon Mickey once in our summer visit last August and twice during our Christmas trip. I agree, it is a lovely calm place with a very special atmosphere and it certainly does make you feel very important using the special entrance and exit! :rotfl:

There was a family there on our summer visit who certainly hogged all the seats and all the cookies, I think they were there for the duration, but we didn't let it spoil our visit. Unfortunately you come across people like this everywhere in life. :sad2:
When we went at Christmas both times we were the only ones there! :cloud9:

Sandra, we found the shares had paid for themselves after just one trip after we had got discount on our annual passes and all our shopping/restaurant meals. :)

I know it pays to be a member but... I used the money for the shares to pay my park hopper at WDW last week :rolleyes1:

So, I will ONLY buy them before our next trip if it really saves us/ ME a lot of money on hotel and park hopper (compared to the special offers Disney has now). It's my mom who will pay the restaurant, and since I already have anything worthwole of the souvenirs they sell... :rotfl: I won't need money for that.
I know, I'm so bad... but that happens if you have 5 Disney vacations in less than 12 months!

Believe me Sjaakie, people like that come from all over the world. :sad2:

The only person I've ever had an altercation with at DLRP, (she tried to push in front of us on the parade route, knocking my youngest over in the process)
was an English lady. :rolleyes2
