How dry is towel-dried hair? I have a hair strengthening product that says to wash and condition my hair, then after towel-drying, comb in the product and rinse.

I have very thick hair so it takes awhile to "towel dry". What I usually do, is blow-dry it for a few minutes until it's damp, but not wet. About 2-3 minutes usually.
