Roger got me a rose for Valentine's Day, but I didn't get a chance to get it until today b/c of the snow. When he gave it to me today, it was red and he made a comment about red being for love, yellow for friendship, and he couldn't remember what white and pink were for (I can't either.) It shocked me that a guy knew this and I wondered how many of you guys would know that.

White is symbolic of innocence and purity.
Dark Pink is symbolic of appreciation.
Light Pink is symbolic of joy and happiness (or sympathy).

Red is for love. The other colors are for when the store is out of red.

Then what the heck are the orange and purple roses for???
(I suppose that Bob's answer already covers this too)

I know that Sue's favorite rose is the Lavonde (purple) rose. She brought one home from the flower shop once. It had a wonderful scent.

I happen to like yellow roses best, but I'm certainly not complaining ;)

Okay I'm jealous!!! Actually Peach are my favorite but yellow are a close second followed by red and white.....heck I love all roses why am I lying:) :)

I actually didn't get flowers this year I got a cute set with a ruby ring, necklace and earrings. Really cute but my favorite thing was my sterling silver smoky topaz bracelet that DH got me at the Memphis Market on Saturday! Its gorgeous!!

Geez I never knew there were so many colors....is it because I rarely ever get roses?? ;)

My SO doesn't know (nor does he care, so he says;) ). He's gotten me 2 roses since I've known him (almost 14 years now), both were red. LOL! He knows I don't like red roses.:teeth: I'm a peach rose type. Actually, I'd prefer daisies or tulips.:)

Uncle Tony, bragger.:p

Lavender (my DW's favorite as well) = Love at first sight

So that explains it. Thanks Steve. Sue is a "love at first sight" kind of person. No wonder she loves Lavonde roses.
