Ater 11 years of membership, we were considering renting a small percentage of our 09 points. I went on the rent/trade board and started reading all the 'stickeys' about how to go about renting. I noticed that quite a few regular posters here had suggestions about contracts etc.
What I'm asking before I proceed, anyone with experience could you please give some impute.
I would want whoever might rent our pts. to be comfortable and I would want to make sure that we were not entering into a nightmare and end up cheated.

Thank you in advance for any advice you can give. We are not professional renters and have no desire to be, so I just would like to have a bit more info before diving in. I would want this to be a win win situation for both sides:goodvibes.

We have only rented points a few times (3). The only little advice I can give, other than the contracts, is to be very selective about who you rent to.

I rented to people who did their homework, knew exactly how many points they would need and understood the process. In return, I offered my home phone number. assistance in anything they needed and occasional contact with them (with me initiating it) to let them know that I was still there and not ripping them off! I would say that it was a pleasant experience for both the renter and the rentee. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I guess that's the hard part knowing if your renting to a educated consumer (as the saying goes). That you wouldn't mind giving your home number and contact.

To be clear, I didn't give out all of my info until we were in a contract and I had 50% of the deposit. Good luck!

Renting points: Not for the faint of heart ;)

My wife and I just recently completed our first transfer of points. We received points from another member, it was a very scary proposition, but we got to know the person, and the entire process went off without any problems.

Good luck with it!
