How far is it to Canada from Fort Lewis area? Do you need anything to get into Canada - passport?

Thanks!

it is about 3 hours to Canada from there.

You don't need a passport.....but it is nice.
Photo ID should be enough.....but I haven't been over since 9-11

You don't need a passport but they will want to see a birth certificate for everyone in your party. My Mom tried to go a year ago with just photo ID and was given a hard time about it. We always take our passports anyway - makes it quicker!

How far to Canada?

Well I guess it depends on whether you're going sightseeing or AWOL. :teeth:

Also, depending on where you are going in Canada, you may be able to take a ferry from WA to BC. There are both passenger and auto ferries.

Three hours is a correct estimate unless you get stuck in commuter traffic around the Seattle area as that could add as much as an hour to your travel time.

Just an FYI: You may need a letter of permission to go over the border from the other parent if you are taking children over (such as traveling alone or if you are the custodial parent)

We go over several times a year with a hockey team and sombody gets caught on this one each time...

Have fun! Watch for that falling Space Needle!!
