lol i guess posting on this thread says i think i am a master! don't know about that but if you are curious, my connectin is cable through Comcast...i have no idea how fast it is but it seems very fast very important i think in that game

oh thanks sillykid so you're connection is between 4 -6 megabits, very fast, i was asking this question because i have dial up, so last part of level five is worthless. i've tried to hit the fireworks but it just freezes so the highest score i've ever gotten was 277,458, do you think this is why i cannot get 280,00? because of my internet connection?

Ok not a Master here but I can score in the upper 270,000 range in a good game.

I also have cable, but.... it also has alot to do with your computer. Mine was not working for a while so I tried using some others to play. On DD's laptop, I was getting bumped at the end of the first round. On another that has a slower processor, I could score around 250,000 tops.

I think it's a combination of connection speed, computer speed, and a good mouse you are comfortable with.

I just read you are on dial up! If you can score that high, you must be excellent at the game!!

level 5 part 3: depends if my connection likes me

so sillykid do these scores look at all anything compared to yours? or is just my scores that still need to improve

I've had over 255,000 going into that last round, and I still haven't come closer to 280,000 than 278,600 or so. When all the fireworks go up at the end, it all just freezes on me and I just click away, hoping something shows up. I think I've resigned myself to the fact that I will never get 280,000 unless I'm pretty much perfect the rest of the game and don't miss a single firework before then.

That is on target for an over 280,000 game.
I go for 215,000 end of 5.1
235,000 for 5.2
and that will get me to around 282,000 if I don't COMPLETELY tank at the end, which happens to me all the time. And it's not the computer or connection. It's player failure.

If so, there must me something seriously wrong with my computer/mouse/playing ability. I consistently have between 235k-243k in the second to last round, and have yet to get a final score above 270k. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

my slow computer is like 2.5 Mbps.. i did a free internet speed test.. at that speed my fireworks are still choppy. so i use my sister's faster computer playing fireworks

I think Dis must have meant at the end of level 5, round 1. I know I have a great chance of getting over 280,000 if I get at least 233,000 & up at the end of 5.1, and at least 252,000 at the end of 5.2.

Well, I would only assume that a land-line is going to slow you down at best (hinder your game at worst).

If you go to Speedtest.net (free speed check for your computer/connection), then click the recommended server you should get some information back as per your speed.

Surprisingly my download speed isn't that high (1.3Mb/sec), and I do get a little lag in-game, but overall I don't feel my game is hindered too greatly because of this.

PS. Your score breakdown is on par with a 280K+ game.

oh for sure! i think the connection is very important because timing is everything in that game as u know...i get high scores for sure, but i'm sure there are many ppl out there capable of getting the ame high scores but are limited because of the connection or the age of their computer...i also wonder if using a lcd screen limits the score too if the response time of the lcd monitor is slow compared to a regular monitor (which is what we have)....

your score are pretty close in the first 3 levels. in level 4 i am usually between 215K-220K...then in last level it breaks down to 237K-242K, 257K-262K, then hopefully 285K-290K (every now and then 291K)
