Hello,

Need advice from OKW owners who bought resale and then added on direct from disney later on...

If my original contract expires in 2042, if I buy add on direct from disney, will that contract also end in 2042? If not, would they consider it a separate membership even if it's the same use year? I guess my concern is consolidating the points to use (same UY) without having to transfer. If the aren't considered as a whole then I might as well keep looking for a small contract in my use year on the resale market.

Please advise...

Thank you!:)

If you add OKW points from DVC, the contract will run through 2057.

The points should have the same Use Year and it will be set up as a subordinate to your original Master contract. You will not have to do a transfer in order to combine the points for a single reservation.

Thanks TJ! I was hoping that would be the case.

Do they make you sign all new paperwork for the points or do they just add them to your account? I guess it's a contract just like the original...but without the right of first refusal stuff....

It's a completely separate contract so yes, you will have to sign all of the deeds and disclosures.

Each contract is a separate legal entity. DVC will create a master/subordinate relationship between all of your holdings when you add-on directly. But down the road, you could individually sell any or all of the contracts that you own.

Even if you sell the original "master", later add-on contracts would still remain linked under your membership for the purposes of combining points in a single reservation.

Thanks again! I appreciate your help. I love these boards and all the knowledgeable and helpful folks like yourself on here!

I was wondering that same thing only in reverse, we bought a small contract direct ending in 2057 and are looking for an add on and most end in 2042. So I guess we'll continue our search for the add on with the same uy with no worries. Thanks
