Today is the first day in a longggg time I haven't gotten out of my PJs. I rarely get weekends off, I work about 45-50 hrs a week, and usually when I'm off, I am on the go.
This weekend, my DBF is out of town and my oldest has a friend over. It's been nice just lounging...but...part of me feels guilty.

Do you feel guilty if you are at home on your day off and do 'nothing' ?
All I've done is fold a load of clothes, cook for the kids and straightened up the kitchen..and I didn't really want to do any of those... :rotfl:

Its like..as a mom, I feel 'obligated' to do something productive, but I dont think thats fair thinking...and I dont want to!

Do you feel guilty for taking a day for being lazy?
(I mean, really, how often do we even get that opportunity?!?!?)

ITA.

I feel guilty if I'm not always doing SOMEthing. I work so much and then, when I'm off, there's so much to do at home (cleaning, doing the lawn, groceries, etc). I feel SO bad for those rare days when I find myself completely unmotivated.

:confused3

Nope. Not at all. I work many MANY extra hours a week. not going to feel guilty or be made to feel guilty if I SIT all day and do nothing.

(ps, you didn't do "nothing" all day- just read your post!)

but I wanted to do NOTHING... lol - the guilt made me do at least a little something!!

Of course, with 5 kids in the house (4 of them mine) I'll never not do ANYTHING, but, yanno..I dont want chores aside from feeding my kids :rotfl2:

DH and I have lots of conversations about this. He thinks I do way too much but I feel guilty if I haven't "accomplished" something, especially on a weekend day. For instance, my back hurts today, I think I twisted it yesterday, but instead of just lolling around, I started my front porch project and scraped down and started sanding the shutters. "Sigh" I wish I could stop myself!

I used to love days like that....I miss the weekends where hubby and I would lay in bed all weekend and watch movies and IHOP! With 2 babies we wont be doing that for a very long time. :guilty:

LOL...sometimes, I do those kind of things and not think of it as a chore though.. I love stuff like that (redecorating or renovating)... but..yeah, today.. wasn't much of anything. I may a little later though. I seem to get more energy in the evening when DS is asleep...

I miss those too!! But..dont count yourself out yet. They will eventually sleep in late :) Have hubby run out to IHOP early, then both of you eat in bed :)
