Question for Ebay Sellers using UPS

I have a question that the reps at UPS don't seem to understand.

I just finished an Ebay auction, final selling price $200. For UPS insurance purposes, is the declared value $200? Would a print out of my Ebay auction serve as the receipt?

I want to use UPS because some of their stores have a "Pack and Ship Promise." If they pack it and they ship it, they are completely responsible for reimbursement if any damage occurs. My buyer tells me that UPS will use "Insufficient packaging" to get out of paying a claim if you pack it yourself.

The declared value should be what you believe it would cost to replace the item being shipped. In my experience, though, if the item's worth is less than the selling price, I'll always use the selling price so that I'm covered.

This is a Limited Edition Big Figure from Disney Auctions. The edition was 250, so I doubt it could be easily replaced. I just want to cover myself in the event my buyer asks for a full refund if it arrives damaged.

Definitely go with the sale price or higher in that case. FWIW I always UPS and have never had an issue.
