Dan or anyone else.

Which is better a Sandisk 256MB Secure Digital (SD) Card - or the Sandisk 256MB High-Speed Ultra II CompactFlash card?

I know the Ultra II is suppose to be faster, but it one markedly better than the other?

Thanks and have a great day.

I've read that several people have problems with the Ultra II freezing their cameras. I haven't paid much attention to the discussions because I already have two 256mb Lexar cards and don't need another. You might want to check the forums at www.dpreview.com for more information.

Gee, I really don't know, other than the two cards are for different cameras. I have not heard of any problems of any digital memory, as mentioned above, but really don't follow it that closely. I do have a few Sandisk Compact Flash cards, as well as Lexar. All seem the same to me. I only think that CF memory is probably a bit less expensive and a bit more available than SD memory, only with it being around a bit longer and more users out there. For value, I think probably a 256 card is your best bet today. I don't think I helped at all though. :)

Oops, I didn't notice you were asking about both SD and compact flash. As Dan said, they're two different cards that aren't interchangeable. I usually read the Pentax forum on www.dpreview.com; that's probably where I read something about Sandisk Ultra. Since the newer Pentax cameras use SD cards, I'm assuming that's the Ultra that they were talking about. Like Dan, I guess my reply isn't much help!

I wanted to know about:

Sandisk 256MB High-Speed Ultra II Secure Digital (SD) card vs. the regular Sandisk 256MB Secure Digital (SD) Card. I did go and look at dpreview and it seems like the Ultra II has some quirks for some users.

I wanted to order one from ecost and I wasn't sure of the diff.

Anyone have any coupon codes for ecost?

Thanks and have a nice night.

I don't know anything about SD memory. If you access www.ecost.com through www.ebates.com you will save some money through rebate money. MANY other sites are accessible through ebates and money in your pocket. I use it whenever I can.

And you too have a nice night. :wave2:
