I am adding two days to our DVC stay in January, and have a couple of questions.

1. If I book a DVC room via BR (we have AP) , will I still get the 10% DVC cash discount after that? Or is it one of those "cannot be combined with other offers" deal?

2. Why, when trying to book using the BR website, will it choose different rooms for me depending whether I say the ressie is for just 2 adults, or if I put it in as 2 adults, 3 kids (one of whom is still packnplay age) Arent' the rooms based upon double occupancy, for rooms with 2 queen beds (plus a packnplay)

3. What will happen if I book the room I want based on 2 adults, and then call to add the kids? I feel like this is a glitch in the website, not that they are trying to not allow me to stay in a room that is perfectly legal for our family.

Thanks for any suggestions! I want to get this nailed down ASAP!

Can't help you with #1. But #2--it's still seeing 5 in a room, which changes the room to 2 Qs and a daybed at a deluxe hotel. (same happened to me before BR, tho, so I could call and book) I don't want to give you bad info--but if your youngest is below the age limit and considered free, maybe you could get the room for 4, and then in the remarks note that you have a toddler, too , who will need a pack and play? I would call CR and find out the details, tho.

If you make the ressie for the adults only, you may end up with a room with 1 king bed.

You can't combine discounts on a BR ressie....You may want to call DVC MS and see if one of the cash rooms is available for the nights that you're thinking about booking. Assuming you're looking at booking a DVC resort via Best Rate, the DVC discount is 25% off & depending on what type of villa you want, the DVC cash room may offer a bigger discount.

I'm assuming that it's recognizing it as there being 5 guests in the room, regardless of the age. You may try putting in 2 adults & 2 kids & see what comes up.

That's precisely what I would do....Book it & then call to add either all of the kids or just the 3rd (the pack & play resident)

Holy misinformation Batman! I thought it was only 10%. How could I be a DVC member (a newbie, but still...) and not realize this? :guilty:

I did book the WL (not villas) under 2 adults, and then just called. They added the kids, no problem, and updated our DME ressie too. I'm afraid to look now to see whether a VWL studio on cash with that OUTstanding discount would be cheaper, if available.

If it is ... I wonder if they would make the change? I understand that my deposit is non-refundable, but maybe they'd apply it toward the cost of the DVC ressie? hmmmm

If you're thinking about a studio, then the discounts for your travel time are going to be about the same....

The BR should be around $225 + tax & the DVC price should be about $221 + tax. I'm guessing that your WL Best Rate is probably less than a studio at the WL Villas....

If it's any consolation, I've never had any luck getting a room with a DVC discount, it seems that they're pretty limited..... :flower:

OK, phew! I think I'll just be happy with what I got -- 2 nights at WL for $379 (before tax, of course) At least if we're in the lodge and not the villas, we'll be closer to the pool, restaurants, and other fun stuff, right? (If I'm wrong, probably shouldn't tell me. ) :teeth:
