Hey everyone!

So how does the long distance relationship work with your bf/gf? How do you find the time in the dcp program and when di you get to see them?

I sent my schedule every week so my DH knew when I was free and we talked everyday. Lots of Skype - I would just set up the laptop in our living room with all my other roommates around and he became like another one of us. It is hard, communication is key.

Haha, similar to this. My roommate and I both came to the DCP with boyfriends already. I was already in a long distance relationship and most of my friendships over the yeas have evolved to long distance with college life but it works out. It is mostly trusting that they are there. Long distance relationships are difficult, require a bit of trust. I don't always talk to my boyfriend every night, I work late hours at Magic Kingdom and he works a 9 to 5 schedule. My days off are different from his days off, so when he has his days off, he works around my schedule and I am online when his days are off. Sometimes I go to special DCp programs or the parks, it helps my boyfriend is 2 hours behind though. Sometimes I get off work and he is still awake. It takes effort, reminding each other you care, but also remembering that daily contact isn't always needed. That you have your own lives, still do your own thing, don't get angry at each other if one of you hangs out with your friends. Have a life but still stay in touch. Send gifts to each other, I definitely recommend investing in a webcam and Skype. I webcam call quite often. My boyfriend has also taken it upon himself to befriend my roomie. :P
