I know using fresh garlic is better when cooking but I don't have any on hand, don't have time to run to the store. So I'm using the mince garlic that I have in a bottle.

When a recipe calls for say 2-3 cloved of garlic, how much does that translate into teaspoons or tablespoons?

Thanks!!!

I have minced garlic in a jar too. I think the equivalents are on the lid or either on the side. The equivalents are in really small print.

I think that 1/2 teaspoon is one clove. (I think that is what is printed on my jar)

1 clove equals about 1/2 - 1 teaspoon.

You will be fine with using stuff from the jar. I use it all the time and never have any problems.

I prefer a bigger garlic taste and I think the preminced is weak. I'd go with 1t = 1 clove.

If I'm using preminced in the jar I use 1 tsp to equal 1 clove. If I'm using the freeze dried stuff I found I actually use a little more, like 1.5 tsp to equal 1 clove. I love the freeze dried stuff but prefer fresh. :)
