Not Disney related, but my MIL and FIL have non-refundable tickets for flights to Seattle from San Antonio they were supposed to use last December. On the day they were to fly out, it iced and they couldn't get to the airport. The reason they were flying in the first place was to go to a school event of my nephew's. The next flight they would have been able to catch would have been too late to make this event. AA gave them until this November to use the tickets, and they probably would have, however, my FIL has Alzheimer's and just in the past year it has become too difficult to travel with him. She finally got his physician to write a letter to this effect to give to AA. Our question is...what are her chances of getting a full refund?? It's really sad because she is still able to travel and loves to, but his condition is just worsening and traveling even on a short daytrip is just too much for the both of them. She's willing to negotiate even a partial credit or to at least be able to transfer the tickets to my BIL. They were over $700! Has anyone else encountered this.
