When you stop in St. Thomas, does everyone have to clear immigration (at the crack of dawn), or only non-U.S. citizens?

I know that everyone had to do it for quite a while after 9/11, but I thought I read somewhere that they had recently changed it.

Thanks............

:D

We cruised Feb. this year and YES...everyone had to clear customs. And they did mean everyone! If a stateroom did not appear at the WD Theater during the check, they announced the missing room numbers and would not clear anyone to disembark until all appeared. If it has changed since then, you will find out, I have not heard other wise.

Still true as of the June 14 Eastern cruise. It is actually fairly painless (except for the waking up part). DD's stayed in pajamas and we carried them, took elevator to the fourth deck and walked to the Walt Disney Theater, Crew Member crossed our names off a list, we showed Passports to Immigration Officer (who barely looked at them), then went back to room.

We left room somewhere around 7:20, no lines at all. We were back by 7:30. I think US citizens must show up between 7:00 and 8:00.

Thanks for the info. Not what I was hoping for, but oh well....

Maybe it will change by the time we go on the 2004 Christmas cruise, since we are supposed to be in St. Thomas on Christmas Day. Sure hope Santa finishes up early....... wouldn't want to catch him still on the ship :D
