question about xbox live

We just got xbox live set up, created a "gamertag" and started the 1 month free trial of Xbox Gold. If we create additional "gamertags" for the other members of our family, will we have to pay $49.99/year for each one? Thanks!

You can create new gamertags for free, but the moment you want gold you're gonna have to start paying up. Silver gamertags (the free kind) will not be able to play games online, but you can still access the marketplace and check out the content there.
