Question about washer/dryer access

I am a new DVC owner, we'll be staying for 17 nights next summer and will be in studios. Are there laundry facilities at the DVC properties or just if you have a 1/2br? If they do have them, is there a cost like at the other resorts? We'll be at Kadini then SSR.

There is a free laundry area(s) for all DVC resorts. I believe normally they are near a pool area. The machines are the coin operated type, but do not need the coins. You do need to provide your own detergent.

There is a free laundry facility for DVC members at AKV in Jambo house on the 5th floor of the Zebra trail near the lobby area. You need your key to the world card for entry. I am not sure where it is for SSR. Of course, you need to pay for soap and the like.

Oh, you asked about Kidani. I am not sure where the laundry areas are located.

There will be laundry rooms in Kidani Village. Just check on the resort map when you check in to find their locatoins. At SSR the laundry rooms are by the pools. since 1BR, 2BR and GV units have their own washers/dryers the laundry rooms are primarily used by guests in the studios. As others have said, they are coin-operated machines, but have been altered so that coins are not needed. Simply push in the coin feeder and the washer will start.

You can either bring your own laundry products for home or purchase them there. Detergent, Fabric Softener and Bleach are all $1.00 per box.

Don't know about Kidani. I'm sure they will have one. Jambo has laundry free to DVC members on the fifth floor. SSR had laundry facilties at all the quiet pools and near the community hall.

for some unknown reason - DVC quit putting these on their maps - except for OKW and SSR

for AKL - Jambo - it is near room 5408 - on the pool side of the resort - zebra trail but on the pool side. right off the lobby. Definitely bring you key to this one. It is kept locked - guess to kept just AKL guests from using it.

You'll need to bring your own detergent and dryer sheets, or small boxes of Tide and Cheer are in vending machines for $1 a box.

At Jambo, there are two washer and four dryers. There aren't any coin slots there at all. One of the washers is a front loader.

Also at the Grandstand pool at SSR one of the washers is also a front loader.

yes - it goes by the room key (id) that you will get not the DVC member card.
