Question about walking into Disney parking lots (specifically toy story)

I see a lot of people recommend walking to a parking lot and taking a free shuttle from there. How do you do this? Is it an electronic toll booth or are their people there? Don't they notice when you go in without a car lol. How does this work?

We do this all the time walking across the street from the Hilton, you just walk in. They don't care, they don't stop you, there's no gate. The sidewalk goes right into the parking lot.

We've done it at Mickey & friends too, no problem.

They really do not care. There are lots of people around trying to catch the trams.

We've done this multiple times, never had anybody tell us we couldnt use the disney shuttles.

We have not done this, however, we have seen plenty of people doing it. When we park at the Toy Story lot there are always people walking in, the CM's don't care. After all there are restaurants there, you may have been eating at the GardenWalk and are now walking back to your car.

What do you think about waiting for an ART versus walking to the Toy Story Parking Lot? We have never done either but will be staying close the parking lot this next time we go. I assumed we would to ART but have heard a lot of people talking about riding the Tram Parking Lot. Cost aside, which is better?

I woul use the Toy Story Tram/ Bus. It is quick and easy!
