Curious about the Murphy bed in a 1BR at VCG.

Is it large enough for an adult or is it more suited to a child?

Also, do I even have a prayer of snagging a res for August at 7 months?

Shorter adult or child. Dh who is 6' laid down on it and his feet were at the end. We didn't measure but it probably is a twin size so around 75". Something he could have dealt with in a pinch but was a bit short if you like to stretch out.

We are here now - DS is 5'6" and slept on it the 1st night, but moved to the sleep sofa last night. He said his feet kept going off the edge of it. It looks almost the width of a twin bed, but no way is it the length of one. We booked at 7 months for a 2bdr dedicated for just 3 nights without a problem, but I hear summer is harder to get.

The D23 expo is August 9-11 so you should try to avoid those dates. I think the studios are already booked. Plan to be online first thing in the morning and you might be able to get a 1 bdrm. If you need the fifth bed, you may want to consider a dedicated 2 bdrm, which is usually the easiest to book.

Thanks everyone for the replies. This is exactly the info I was looking for.

We typically do 1BR's at BLT or OKW for the sleeper chair or use an air mattress at SSR so DS's 18 & 15 have their own sleeping space. Was trying to figure out if the VGC 1BR would work or if we'd be happier with a 2BR or 2 studios (although I know they are in short supply).

Thanks too for the reminder about D23! Would have totally spaced on that one!

Now to play the waiting game until January to try for a booking :thumbsup2
