Hello all! I am brand new to this forum, so please excuse my inexperience!
I'm looking at buying a DVC contract, but have a question about how the use year plays into making a reservation. The contract I'm looking at has a use year of June and there aren't any points available until June 2011. Does this mean that I can't make a reservation until June, or does it mean I can make a reservation before June, but that my resort stay can only include dates beginning in June 2011? I know there's always the option of borrowing, but I'd prefer not to do that. The answer that I get will help me in making a final decision about this contract. Thanks in advance for your help!

Your points for each year are valid for stays during that year. You can make the reservation as soon as your booking window opens (11 months out for your home resort). No borrowing is needed if the trip falls in the dates of your use year.

The points for your next year are already there. So as long as you are planning a trip from June 2011 - May 2012, you would be all set. You could have made your reservation as early as last July for a June trip.

as stated, UY month has nothing to do with when you can call to book a reservation. you can call at 11 months out for your home resort.

if you regularly travel in the march-april-may timeframe, a june UY may be a poor choice for you. UY month is only really an issue if you need to cancel a reservation.

more info about UY is here if you need it:
