Question about transfer on ribbed shirt

I will be making a couple of shirts tomorrow, and a friend of mine bought the shirts for me to use and they are the ribbed tanks. These are for two little girls and one of the girls is very small framed so I know it will be fine, but the other little girl has a little "up top" and I think the shirt will stretch just a bit.

Because they are ribbed I am worried that the design will not adhere well and that the design may crack when the one little girls slides it over her. They are only wearing these one time and then they will be hung on their wall (concert t's), so I am not worried about the long term, but I only have one shirt each so I CANT mess them up.

Has anyone ever used ribbed t's and should I get a different kind of transfer?

Sonya, i have often wondered myself how ribbed t's will hold up with tranfers

As for your question re: the girl that has a little more 'up top' the best place to put that transfer is around the mid belly section....here is an example, if this helps...

That's cute! My problem is that this is a 9 year old girls so the shirt is not that big. Even though she has a bit of a "top", the transfer is a big square so it is pretty much going to cover the majority of her shirt.

I have seen transfer paper for stretchy fabric. Give that a try.
