SO, we've got a World of Color Dessert Party reservation (with a 9:00 showtime). I just managed to snag a Blue Bayou reservation for the same day at 7:10pm. I know they 'suggest' checking in an hour early for WOC dessert party, but, realistically, will we be able to do Blue Bayou and make it to WOC without *rushing* too much?

I wouldn't. Even if you are seated exactly at 7:10pm and take only 1 hr for dinner. It will take like 15 min minimum to get from BB to Dessert Party check in. 30 mins to go will mean that by the time you check in and get seated you will have like 15 min to eat and won't get any refills for drinks or anything. Not worth the rush if you want to actually enjoy the Party imo.

In my opinion I doubt it.

I did 9pm / first show World of Color Desert Party on Tuesday 27 June 2023

On the day there are two steps.
1. Check In
Check in opens at 7pm for the 9pm show. The check in area is at the Eureka water wheel near the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. I was there about 6.45pm and was second in line. By being so early I was able to request the type of table which suited me best. I chose the low table and asked for the area at the grass area where there were no people in front of me. I was given a wristband and told to come back at 8pm.

All members of your party do not need to be at check in so maybe for you you could send a runner over to DCA to check in and get the wristbands for your party.

2. Entry to the viewing areas. At 8pm a CM gathered everyone with a wristband and walked us over to the viewing area. My wristband and name was checked by the cm and I was brought to my assigned table, number 38.

It would be very close to make it to back to the WOC check in for 8pm coming from Blue Bayou. Distance wise its not that far, but you will have to battle crowds on Main Street, there may be a queue at the exit turnstyle, there may be a queue at the DCA entrance turnstyles and then you will have the crowds in DCA.

Getting your actual table at Blue Bayou is *always* a wait - especially if you want a water side table. Think of dining reservations inside the park more as a lightning lane return time vs an actual time to sit at your table.

IMO you'll want to get seated right at 8:00 when they walk you over from the Eureka water wheel to the tables. You're only served in that hour *before* WOC begins.

Thanks for your replies! Unfortunately, I just discovered that in booking Blue Bayou, I cancelled my WOC! Arg. I called; there is nothing they can do. So bummed... was supposed to be a b-day gift for my mom! I will keep checking to seeing the dessert party opens up again. Stupid, rookie mistake!
Thank you all for your replies! At least I know that the two were too close together, time-wise.

The two times that I’ve done the world of color dessert party I’ve been lined up by the water wheel by 6:30 PM and there’s a line every time, one time I was second in line and one time I was first, but the line forms quickly because they start checking you in at 7 PM for your wristband distribution and your table choice, and also your desired location. Once you have your wristband, technically you can leave and come back at eight when they start walking people over to your table and as soon as you’re at your table, they start serving your dessert right away. I would still get there at 6:30 PM, but at the latest , I would want to be there for check-in at seven so I would want to be in line by 645 at the latest. I’m afraid your dinner reservation conflicts with this greatly.

I thought Blue Bayou was the dining package option for Fantasmic? I guess I was wrong as I was thinking of booking the buffet at Storytellers for our WOC package.

You are confused. BB is indeed for Fantasmic (when it's running).

Storytellers, Wine Country and Dessert Party for WOC.

OP was talking about a normal BB dinner reservation.

Eating at BB will be a treat in itself!
