Question about tickets

Hello everyone and good morning!!

Some of you know that I'm currently seperated and that I have decided not to go on the upcoming Disney trip with DH and his family. My question is this: My MIL had already purchased our tickets a few weeks before our seperation and she receieved(sp?) them a few days ago. I'm planning on booking a trip for myself and DS within the next year. If I book a trip for next December..for example..could I still use the tickets even though they were purchased this year in October?? Or would I have to use them before hand??

Thanks in advance for the help and answers. I've tried looking for answers and I'm not really getting what I want. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place..but I knew if I came to this board..someone would have the answer for me!!

As a general rule tickets do not expire until 14 days after first use. There are some special tickets, usually for groups or special events which have an expiration date printed on them.

Thanks Chesire!!!! These are just regular tickets that has Park Hopper option on it.

If you don't use your ticket then:
You can save your tickets for years and years and then they are still valid.

If you use your ticket (even only for 1 day):
Your ticket is going to expire within 14 days after that first day of use.
