Hi, everybody! I'm still new here, but love the disboards! :) We are going to WDW Oct. 7-14, and will need 2 adult and 1 child passes. I was thinking of ordering the tickets from Maple Leaf, and from their price chart it seems that a 10 day MYW ticket is cheaper than a 7 day hopper. We will realistically just be doing a Disney park on 6 of those days, so that would leave 4 extra days to use to "hop" to another park, right? :confused3 Have others done this? It almost seems too sensible, so I thought I would just check my math with everyone :teacher: Thanks!

From what I understand, once you use your pass at one park, you can not use it at another park on the same day unless you have the hopper option added, you can't use 10 days ticket to see 10 parks in 6 days.

Unfortunately, you cannot use extra days to hop, you'll have to add the park hopper feature to be able to hope to the different parks. However, if you do 6 days, you should be fine. 2 in MK, 2 in Epcot, 1 at AK and 1 at MGM...Have fun!

we always park hop.

the park hopper is valid for the number of days as the ticket issued so if you have a 7 day park hopper you can go to multiple parks on those 7 days you use the ticket. how active/old is your child? that might influence if you need the hopper.

Thanks for the answers everyone. I think I did read somewhere that you can only do one park per day without the hopper, but with all this planning, I can't keep everything in my head! :p DD5 princess: is pretty active but we plan to do a break in the afternoon to swim and eat lunch. The only reason I will probably need to hop is to maybe see Illuminations at Epcot on the night that we've been to AK during the day. If we don't do this, I don't see a reason to hop on the other days. So now the question is "Is Illuminations good enough to warrant paying for a hopper? Hmm..." I feel like I'm running out of :hourglass to get all the planning done!

It really isn't much more money adn we like the freedome. IF we get to a park and it is busy we leave and come back.

We decided to just go with base tickets for when we go, and, if for some reason we want hoppers, we'll upgrade while we're there. Hopefully, we won't need the hoppers and be able to save all that money.

:Pinkbounc Epcot has so many great places to eat, that we have the majority of our ADR's located over there, so Not Hopping wasn't an option :Pinkbounc

We plan on hopping the whole trip. You never know what you'll want to do or where you'll want go. :Pinkbounc

just back, we have APs and have always hopped alot, this yr we took 2 newbies with us and got non hoppers with our package, and altho we could hop with APs and they didnt wanna upgrade, we never hopped and never missed hopping, I was quite surprised myself, we have DD4 and opened parks at 7"40 am and closed em at10pm, not hopping (she napped in stroller some days)

The advantage is that Epcot is open late than say MGM or AK so you can go over there when those 2 close and take in the night displays. The disadvantage is the time it takes to travel back and forth. Sometimes it's a great relaxation to take the monorail back and forth when you've been walking all day. The real disadvantage is going back to get your car at the end of the night.
