Question about Threads

Hi~
I haven't posted on the DIS boards too much, and there are a few questions that I have and hoping someone can answer. I've searched around the board to get the answers, but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

What is a "Sticky" thread? Why would someone want to create one?

Why are some of the threads in bold while others in regular font?

A sticky is a thread that is kept at the top of that board. You can't do that only the moderators can stick a post to the top of a board.

Welcome to the DIS.

The titles will look bold until you look into one. Once you look into a thread, it will look normal the next time you see the title. This allows you to see at a glance any threads you have not read. Any threads that you start will look bold to everyone but you because you "looked" at yours first. Welcome to the DIS!

Actually, I think I made a mistake after browsing a little more. I think it becomes normal if you post to that thread, not if you just look at it. Anyway, I was close!
