With the new tickets can someone else - other than the original person who uses the ticket the first time - use the remainder of the days left? Or is there some kind of identification process?

I'm not talking about an AP - but rather the new park hopper..

Hmmm...I am not positive but it seems that they are now having people sign the back of the tickets and you also have to use the finger scanner when entering the park.

Only the original user can use the tickets. They use a biometric finger scanner at park entrances to make sure you don't use someone else's ticket. There may be a way around it, but if you get caught, I believe the whole ticket is voided, so it's probably not worth it.

Nope - won't do it if it's not allowed.. I was just wondering if it was the same way it used to be with the old tickets..

Thanks! :flower:

Technically, even the old tickets were not to be used by anyone other than the original holder. The tickets had "non-transferable" written on the back. However, realistically, they could be given to others to use. Unfortunately, some people took advantage of that, and started re-selling tickets (sometimes at prices much higher than they should), and others started re-selling tickets that had no days left on them. So Disney has now designed a ticket that makes those re-sales more difficult.

Your name is printed on your ticket, and when you use it, your biometric scan is added to the info on the ticket. If someone else tries to use it, the biometric scan will not match, and the person will be asked to show ID. When the ID does not match the name on the ticket, the ticket will be voided. This also helps keep tickets from being stolen and used by others.

They're using the same biometric system that's been used by AP holders for almost 10 years. The passes aren't transferrable and the current pricing system makes the extra days almost free. The "honor system" isn't enough to prevent guests from sharing or even selling extra tickets.

Thanks! Looks like my sister may be joining me for a day - or a day and a half - so I'll just get her a two-day pass.. :flower:
