Question about the Disney Visa ????

Wondering if anyone can answer this for me......

I have heard that if you use your Disney Visa to pay for your trip (a MYW package only), that you can do it interest-free for 6 months. Is this true? Do you get it automatically or do you have to do something to get it? My introductory interest-free period for regular purchases is about to end, so I was a bit confused about this. If a MYW package is indeed interest-free for 6 months, I'd want to do it that way, but certainly not if they'd put interest on it.

Any info you might have would be appreciated! Thanks! :)

I believe you have it right. Any Disney vacation purchased with a Disney Visa has 0% APR for six months. We charged our June trip on our Disney Visa and the next month's statement reflected the 0% deal. You may have to book through Disney CRO, but we didn't have to do anything else special.

Thanks for the reply. Was your introductory no-interest period already over with? Did you put the whole thing on your card when you booked your trip? We just did the $200 down payment and are waiting til 45 days out to pay the rest. Still hoping I can put it on the card with no interest for 6 months.

Thanks again for your help. Anybody else?

I paid the $200 with my debit card and waited until the absolute last day to pay off the balance with my Disney Visa. I just received the card specifically for this trip so I'm not sure if there was any introductory offer, but I think the 0% APR on Disney vacation packages is always available.

I just got my card and it says you or your travel agent must book an eligible, vacation package and charge the deposit and remaining balance or pmts, to your card prior to your arrival. Transaction must be between $101-$10,000 to qualify. Ask for a Disney Travel Co package to get the offer. Must include min 1 night WDW resort stay, and a Magic Your way base ticket.Accommodations and tickets must be booked as a package at the same time. If any pmt becomes past due, promotional rate is lost.
"To get the 0% promo APR on Disney vacation packages, you or your travel agent can call:

Hi - This is my first post, but I just had an experience with my Disney Visa, so I thought I could relay my experience. I've had Disney Visa for 4 years (?), so I am definitely not in any intro promo period. I knew about the 6-month interest package offer from Disney Visa, but I decided to book our next Disney trip (January 07) through AAA. Assuming the 0% interest-free promo was only through Disney Central Reservations, I never even asked my agent about it. Furthermore, I actually made a room-only reservation, so imagine my surprise when I got my last Disney Visa bill and my travel charge was listed under "Promo - 0% interest" at the bottom of the statement. I am assuming this is the 6-month interest-free promotion.

I have subsequently changed my room-only reservation into a package, but, based on my experience, I don't see why you wouldn't get the 0% interest promotion.

I too am so confused with this whole thing.I have booked my rooms for May 2007 and the deposit is due this Sunday.I can't do the packages as they arent out yet and I am not sure if I should put it all on the card and then just add the package later.I don't want to lose the interest free thing ,so I am thinking perhaps I will let reservation go on rooms and just do it all at once in January when the whole package is there to book. :confused3

:goodvibes Thank you all for your thoughtful responses. I appreciate it. Going to go for it and put it on the card and keep my fingers crossed.

mtrak17-WELCOME TO THE DISBOARDS! :wave2: And thanks for using your first post on this thread. I appreciate your input.

Hi Mary! How on EARTH did you get so many posts already??!! Sheesh! Yep. 56 more days for us. 8 weeks from right now, we'll be almost there! Eeek! I'm so excited, I can't STAND it! :dance3:

tinksmom5-like you, I'd probably cancel the room ressies and book the whole thing in January.

Thanks again for your responses. Hopefully, this transaction will go smoothly.

I called Disney Visa and they told me that you don't have to do anything, its automatic and you will see the promo right on your statement. 6 months no interest. So if you left a deposit today you would have 6 months interest free on that and then when you paid your balance you would have 6 months from that date to pay off the rest. Not a bad deal.

Ok so let me try and get this straight.I can use my disney visa for the deposit on my rooms and that will be interest free for 6 months ,then I can turn it into a package when they become available?
Then right before we leave I can call and put the whole balance on my card as well and that too will be interest free for another 6 months?
I know someone already said this somewhere but I really need the interest free so I want to be 100% sure on how it works before I make my next move.
Thanks all. pirate:

I don't know if you can do the deposit on the rooms interest-free. I thought it was only interest-free if you do a whole package. Also, you'd have to put the balance (of a package) on your card 45 days before you arrive, not just before you leave. I'm no expert, but I hope that helps. :)
