Question about the alternate Mission:Space

Has anyone here gone on the non-spinning version?

Can you describe the motion please?

I'm traveling in less than 2 weeks with a friend who's 2 months pregnant. While I love the regular M:S I am willing to try the non-spinning one for her sake but would like to know what it entails.

TIA!
Robin

We did the Green Team several times last week. It was my sister, my DD6 and my Dnephew 7. The movement was very mild, as I remember. You tilt a bit backward for "take off", bounce around a bit at some points, and tilt forward a few times. In my opinion, it's like 50% of the movement of Star Tours or something similar...very mild. Now, of course, anyone who's pregnant should make her own decision because I'm sure the recommendatios say don't ride if you're pregnant. But, if it were me at 2 months I would totally ride this. My 60 year old mother who freaks out on Splash Mountain rode it and liked it a lot.

I'm resurrecting this slightly-older thread, because I'd like more input regarding this. My wife will be 5 months pregnant, and I know the original Mission: SPACE is out of the question, but I haven't been able to find out if the calmer Mission: SPACE is a possibility. Thanks!

It is not recommended at all for pregnant women (either version). The green version is still very jerky. It just doesn't spin to get the G-force effects.

being 5 months I would say they will notice her being pregnant and may even refuse her entry. It is mild enough in my opinion for small children but would not chance anything being pregnant. I rode a simulation ride when I was about 3 months pregnant with my son not realizing it moved like that...(The movie theater kind) and I felt sick all day after that...and I live for thrill rides. just not the smartest thing to do!

To the OP. Your friend should make her own decision about riding even the Green Team (the Orange Team is definitely out). The pregnancy warnings are there.

If you've ridden the Orange Team, you will find almost no difference in the Green Team. I couldn't tell the difference. My husband said the force back on the liftoff wasn't there but the sensation of blasting into space is definitely there. Others have said the whip around the moon is a bit different but I couldn't tell.

Mission:Space was one of my favorite attractions, hands down. I now have physical limitations so some of my favorites are no-nos for me. I was very pleased to see the Green Team allows me to still enjoy this attraction with very, very minimal changes. The story line is the same. The only thing you'll miss is the warning about looking straight ahead and not closing your eyes.

Mission:Space Green Team is a BIG winner in my book.

Crossed it off the list. Thanks very much for the input! :)

She can go through the queue and preshows with you and just not do the actual ride. Just tell the Cast Member before you board your capsule.
