I was wondering if we flew and we wanted to stay at a value resort for the first night or two and then check into our DVC resort, how do we get our luggage to the new place with the least amount of cost. I'm sure we can get a taxi, but I didn't know if there was a way to transport luggage to a dvc resort without losing a lot of valuable park time. Looking forward to hearing amy suggestions. This is for our Sept 07 trip.
Thanks
Cindy

We had to transfer between hotels (Beach Club to Saratoga when there was no more BCV availability) and they transferred all our luggage for us. Told us to bring it to the baggage holding area by check in and that it would be at the new hotel by three PM that afternoon.

Worked out perfect, we went to a park that day, checked in to SSR and had the bags brought to the room. The cost was a nice tip to the bellman.

Tell them at check in.

We did this in Oct. They had us leave our bags in the room under the window and @ 4pm they brought them over to BCV.

Pop (okay it might be all stars - but I am more familiar) doesn't have bell service - they have luggage service.

so when it is time for you to leave - you can either bring it to them - or call them.

I suggest bringing to them - because they only have a few people and this is a huge resort and I think DME get better service because they have to LEAVE at such, and such a time.

now to get them you can either ask at the front desk of your DVC resort - or call bell services on the phone. You need to be there - to give them a tip. the WDW resorts won't even deliver if you aren't there. but I don't think the DVC resort bell services are that money hungry.

the bell luggage at POP is right where you get off the dme bus - to go into the resort. - not where you get it to go to the airport. - the other end from the main entrance of the gift store, food court, lobby.

Thank you for all the information. My husband and I are questioning whether to drive or fly. I vote for flying it is a long drive and we did it twice in 2006.

great question. I am a bit confused on all this as well.

We will be staying at the ASMo the first night. We will drive in.
The following 5 nights we will be at OKW. Will OKW allow us to leave luggage there the day we check in at ASMo. I was thinking of packing an overnight bag for the first night and then just put it in the car the morning we get up and then head to the parks??? That would mean that when our room was ready at OKW our luggage could be brought to the room? Any ideas on this?

Thanks!!!!

When I checked into SSR on the morning of NYE I had to leave my luggage so I could return a rental car and get to the park of choice for the day. I asked if they would take my luggage to the room once it was ready and the answer was that I had to be there when they brought it to the room. Fortunately my husband flew in that day and when he got there by DME the room was ready and they took him and the luggage I had stored to the room. I don't know if the same is true at OKW. I would do as you suggested and pack an overnight bag for the first night so you don't have to haul all the luggage anywhere. If I were you I would leave all my luggage in the car at OKW and use the bus system for the day from there if the room is not ready the next morning. If you are really lucky your room may be ready when you check in that morning and you can just leave it in the room. If you need help with the luggage just ask bell services when you are ready to move into the room. Hope you have a great trip.

Just in case you weren't aware...Disney will take you from MCO (Orlando airport) for free to your Disney resort. Then as others have described, Disney will take your luggage from the value resort to your DVC resort.

we stayed at Music for our first two nights, bell services then took our luggage to Saratoga for us, great service - hope this helps

last trip we moved from okw to bwv and even though we had our car (drove from long island never again but thats a diff story) they moved our luggage and we moved the car
just went to the parks and came home to a new room with all our things there NICE

We're doing this in a few months. We'll be at POP for one night, then checking in to BWV the next day. Our plan is to go to Epcot that day, and at lunch time I'll head over to BWV to check in.
