Hi
I am going to SSR next week. I got a great airline rate there and we are taking other family and staying in a 2 BR.
I have read there are pack and plays available but what about regular cribs?
I would rather put my 16 month old in a crib to sleep. Will I be able to get one there, or am I out of luck?
Thanks for the info....

I've read that some folks rent a crib from a place called "a baby's best friend." You could try a google on that. AFAIK it's just the pack n plays available at DVC. Maybe someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

The pack and plays are already in your villa. I don't know of anyway to get a crib from SSR except as already posted by an outside company. The pack and play always worked well for our little ones. :)

The pack n play worked well for us w/our 1 yr old. We wrapped an extra blanket around the supplied pad to give him a little more cushion.

He slept........well, he slept like a baby (woke up every 2 hrs screaming- just kidding) :thumbsup2 It worked just fine. We did not see the need for the extra expense for a crib when traveling.

Regards,

I was able to get a full size crib last year when we stayed at the GF. I expected a pack and play but got a full size crib. So thye are out there just call and ask. They may be able to accomodate you.

Just back from our stay at SSR
Just wanted to let everyone know yhere are cribs available. Apparently they only have 15 in the entire resort but we were able to snag 2 of them. They are metal cribs and seem a bit smaller then a regular crib but they did the trick. So much better then the pack and plays.
We arrived early about 10 AM so maybe that's why they were still available.
Had a great stay we were in Congree Park in a 2 BR ground floor. close to bus stop and DTD.
Walk to main area was not too bad with baby in stroller.
Love Bugs ruined Thur at the pool. But we went over early Fri and they were not out yet.
I think the key to avoiding the swarm at the pool is to go befor 11 or after 3.
I will definately look to stay at a DVC again. It is so great with a small child to put them to sleep and go into another room. plus the kitchen and washer and dryer were great too.
Ask any questions I will try and reply.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. I just found out this morning that our wait list for a 2 bedroom in December came through! :cool1:

We plan on requesting Congress Park and I've got two questions for you. Do the buildings have elevators? And did you like the ground floor or would you have preferred a higher floor with balcony?

Thanks!

There are elevators in the center of the building. We chose to use the stairs closer to our villa, which was at the far end.

Yes there are elevators.
I was disappointed about being on the first floor at first, but it was much easier with the kids not having to do the elevator every time we went back to the room. Also there is a little patio with chairs on the first floor which was nice. We had a view of the pool.
Have fun in December
