I was wondering...... I just stayed at SSR in May and my room was in the Springs section. My Question: Is there only one food court in SSR ? If you are staying in other sections do you have to take the bus to the Springs in order to eat? :confused3

There is only one, but it's a 5-minute walk from any SSR building to the main section, so there's no need to take the bus.

Artist's Palette is the only food court, The Turf Club will open this weekend as a full service dining option.

The bus is one option, but none of the buildings are more than a 5-10 minute walk to the Carriage House area of the resort- even at a slow pace.

Enjoy!

Um, just wondering but if you just stayed there you should have a pretty good idea of the layout of the bldg areas and that there is only one food court, correct?

I guess I am confused.

I only stayed there for 3 nights and did not have time to walk around the property. We got dropped off at the Springs (Main Building), our room was in the Springs, used the Disney Transportation at the Springs bus stop, went to the main pool in the Springs, and ate in the Springs. Sorry for your confusion.

We just stayed in the Springs section and feel so spoiled. I love SSR and wondered how I'd feel in one of the other sections if we had to walk back to our area. So I got up early one morning and walked the property. I didn't time myself but it didn't seem like a far walk from either Congress Park or the Paddocks. I started getting up early and walking the paths each morning. Using the bridge would cut down on some shoe leather as well. The OP, enjoy your trip!

Depending on which building you're in, it's also a short walk to DD with all the food options you have there popcorn::

Oh ok, I understand.
Thanks :)

We Are Staying At Ssr In Aug And I Requested A View Of Dd So I Am Assuming That We Will Be In Congress Park.it Is Just Me And My Dh. Is That A Mistake And Should I Have Requested The Springs Since I Am Sure We Will Be Trying Out The New Restaurant? If The Kids Were Coming I Would Have Requested The Springs So We Would Be Close To The Pool But Since It Is Just The Two Of Us I Though A View Of Dd At Night Would Be Nice. Any Opinions?

I would say you did great, you and dh will love the view and the wonderfull stroll to DTD. And CP has a great quite pool with hot tub, we sat out there looking at DTD with a glass of wine most every nite. :cool1:

Please remember that requests are just that, REQUESTS. With the number of guests staying at SSR at any given time and many requesting DTD views, you more than likely will NOT get that view. Keep your fingers crossed on this. The way your post was written it seems you feel like you automatically get what you request. A few more DVC trips and you'll see that DVC doesn't really care about requests as they cannot honor them all. Even Non smoking is a request not a gaurantee.

Good luck and happy travels.

Thanks for the reply's. My 3 night vacation in May was with a friend and the husbands stayed home with the kids. My girlfriend and I where limited to time and didn't have enough time to explore. We where just excited to be able to go to the parks and go on rides we would not normally be able to go on with our children who are under the age of 5 :) . In the future when I come back with my husband and 2 kids I wanted to make sure that we would not be too far away from the food court and main pool so I think it would be easier to stay in the Springs again. I know they have quiet pools near the other locations and I just was not sure about another food court. So thank you for everyone's info. :)

Congress Park is not far to the Main building. However all requests are not guaranteed so you might not get Congress Park and get Springs or Paddocks.
