I know that SoG is sending their guests to the Contemporary Resort until fall 2003. But I thought I read that they were offering discounts at some of the other resorts as well. Does anyone have any information about which resorts these might be, or what those rates are?

I'm just trying to make a decision before booking our June 2003 resort reservations.

Thanks.

You might want to call SOG and ask. The resorts and rates they offer change all the time. FYI: You can frequently find discounts better than SOG discounts at other resorts thru codes found at Mousesavers.

There are, approximately, 35 different resorts in the overflow. We have all of the hotels on the Disney property and about a dozen off size. Prices can range from $35-600+/nt, not including tax. Rates are dependent on a number of variables. I have been told there are some resorts we will be eliminating due to frequent guest complaints and the hotels not fixing the problems, but as of right now, I'm not privy as to which hotels these are. :)

hi, I,m doing the same thing for June 2003! I called shades of green today and she told me tha they definitely can book at the other disney resorts for the gov. rates.but these rates won't be coming out untill October and to call back then, in the meantime I booked a room at the regular rate, when the discounts come up i'll call about them. When are you going? we're going June 13 -21 2003! hope this helps! goofy4mickey48 Ps- mousesavers.com will show you what the rates are for the different disney resorts through shades of green:Pinkbounc

Thanks for all of the help!

Goofy4Mickey48: I did call SoG this morning and was told basically the same thing you were. Haven't set a definate date yet, but I hope to go June 9th thru 14th, so we'll probably overlap by one day. Which resort did you choose and why? I think I may end up doing the Contemporary. My husband thinks it will be easier to just go with that resort. I'm afraid the decor may be a bit too garish for me. But I did see some pics on someone's website that didn't look too bad.

I personally have been leaning towards POR or the CSR, but my hubby says why pay more for a moderate when we can have a deluxe for such a great rate. I haven't made up my mind yet. He seems content to let me make all of the decisions. Just once I'd like for someone else to take charge. (I single-handedly planned our "no-holds barred" WDW vacation for last summer. It was great, and I'm excited to be going again!!)

Does anyone know if we can sponser a room for my sister at the SoG rate? I think she may come with us. I know SoG used to let guests sponser up to 5 rooms for large parties such as weddings, etc. but I'm not sure about whether they will let us do that at the Contemp.

Thanks again, everyone, for all of your much needed help!!

An eligible sponsor may reserve up to three rooms at SOG, (or through SOG). The sponsor must be there during check-in, and, the sponsor must be staying for the same length of time, (or longer), than guests in the other rooms.

Thanks! You all are so helpful. I know I have a year before my trip, but I am an obsessive planner and like to have as much info as possible, so that there are no unpleasant surprises while I'm on vacation. That's why I love the DIS so much! Everyone brings all of their knowledge and experience and shares it with everyone else. Hope I can do the same.

Hi lotaluck, I think were going to go with CSR the closest I've been to disney property is the Doplhin, which was beautiful, we've stayed at Vistana Village another beautiful place, other condo type places, but I'm really excited to stay at an actual disney resort, with all the disney touches! The csr looks beautiful and romantic ,I'm not sure I would like the theming of the contemporary. I'm an obsessive planner too, not getting better as time goes by controlling this obsession with disney![ smile] but we've had some great vacations! well ,happy planning! goofy4mickey48:cool:
