question about Sanaa

Getting ready to pack for our trip next week and was wondering about what I might plan to wear to dinner at Sanaa...is it dressy like Jiko or more casual like Boma?! Thanks!

It was pretty casual for lunch when we went in January...not as dressy as Jiko.

Yea it was def much more casual than jiko. Very good food tho, good choice

My family wore our matching Disney t-shirts & black shorts when we had dinner there.....we were just fine!

***Order the "Naan" bread - Great! The kids loved it!

I've worn jeans and a button down shirt at Jiko without issue. The webpage for Sanna at Disneyworld.com does not include a dress code.

Here is the dress code for Jiko:

Dress Code Guidelines:
Men: Khakis, slacks, jeans, dress shorts, collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.
Ladies: Capris, skirts, dresses, jeans, dress shorts.

Not permitted in dining room: Tank tops, swimwear, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing. While T-shirts are now allowed, the policy remains that T-shirts with offensive language or graphics are not acceptable.

Whew! Thanks ya'll!! I am TRYING (AIMING) to pack us in just carry-ons IF I can and was hoping not to have to pack anything too dressy!! I wish the weather forecast was just a few degrees warmer...I am cold at anything below 75...so fear I will pack too many long sleeves & layers... I cannot believe I haven't started packing yet & we leave on Friday evening. That is very unlike me...but I keep waiting to get a better forecast before I start laying out clothes for 6 nights!! One of the reasons I don't want to check a bag is because we don't land until 10:25...so the ME people won't bring any checked bags - we'd have to waste another 30 min. or whatever going to baggage claim & I know by 10:30 I'm just NOT gonna want to deal with THAT!

For those of you who have eaten at Boma, Jiko AND Sanaa...how does the food / value at Sanaa compare? FWIW, we prefer Boma to Jiko...that is one FANTASTIC buffet for the price. IMHO I thought Jiko was very over priced in comparison.

Hope - not sure if I'd do a TR that would be worth reading...I am not as entertaining as LisaViolet nor as factual as DVCMike - but I sure can ramble!!

Though Cali Grill is my all time fave.

DH is sort of like Starbox, got a thing about buffets. So we don't do them that much. And if they have a characters, the nose goes up even higher.

Well, we dressed up more there than we did for MOST of TS meals...

We ate at Sanaa last Tuesday and loved it. Its not a signiture restaurant so there is no special dress code. We wore shorts, jeans, t-shirts and it was no problem.

Yes pool bar dirt!! We'll be able to compare Jambo's vs. Kidani's! any report you give us will be great. I love to read rambling posts! News flash! I'm reading the Kidani pool heater is now fixed!

We've enjoyed all three restaurants. (Twice at Jiko, three times at Boma, and once at Sanaa.)

We do the meal plan, so I'm not really sure how to compare things price-wise. Although looking at prices for Sanaa, it's actually a really good deal. The food was GREAT! We're going back on our next trip this summer.

And as for attire, I always like to wear sundresses or skirts to my Disney dinners, no matter what the restaurant. But that's just me!

Hope - I didn't know the Kidani pool heater was broken! Glad to hear it's fixed though!

Pretty much packed now...nothing fancy this trip thanks to the confirmation that I don't have to dress up too much for Sanaa... Well, not exactly PACKED...but I did a "test pack" of everything to see if I could get us in carry-ons or what. NOW I have to take everything out to IRON it! I think I deserve a cookie for this one...now, granted, I was not able to find room for my DSLR and the seams on the bags are BULGING...but check this out... For myself I got a weeks worth of socks & undies, PJ's, 2 bathing suits & a coverup, 15 shirts (mix of long sleeves, 3/4 length sleeves & short sleeves), 3 pr. of shorts, 2 pr. of convertible roll-up pants and 3 pr. of crops + 2 pr. of sandals in ONE standard carry-on bag (thanks to Owners Locker)!! There is NO ROOM left for any shopping though. I am tempted to check 1 bag & just take 2 carry-ons....but I don't want to have to go to baggage claim at 10:30 Friday nite!!

Dressing is what you make of it. We have eaten at Saana 3 times. It is nice casual. Somewhere between Boma and Jiko. We dress up a Jiko's. Enjoy!
