I saw on Allears that this cs is seasonal. We will be there Oct. 9 - 15.
Will be at Fort Wilderness. Thought it may be a good place for our first dinner on dining plan before the campfire.
TIA

Roaring Forks at WL is still a good poke from Fort Wilderness, but I suppose it is the closest Counter Service restaurant. It's in the closest spot in WL to the boat landing. The food there is pretty decent: good soups, hearty chili and pretty good sandwiches. I think they had the regular chicken fingers and burgers too. We found the service a little slow, but it's a nice spot.

The restaurant is open all year, they might change the hours, depending on the time of year. DW and I stayed at WL on our honeymoon last year and it was usually open until around 11:00 PM and was open by the time I'd meander down to fill the mugs, which was around 7:00-7:30 AM.

We last stayed there in Feb 2003 and I thought it was open 6:00a.m. to 11:00p.m. I would think it would be a nice choice for counter service and you can take the boat from FW to WL too.

I did not think about the boat. We will have our bikes. How far is it from FW. Anybody know?

At check in the CM told us there was a 1 mile path. It goes between FW and WL. I don't know how long that would take to bike though.
