Question about ressies with some cash nights...

We're planning on going to WDW with my parents and were debating on them paying for the weekend nights cash while using our points for the other days. Is this a huge ordeal? How would you go about it? Also, how do you find out how much the certain days would cost, cash-wise?

If you book through MS cash they usually are discounted 25% the benefit booking through MS is that they can "link" your cash nights to your points stay and you won't have to Move or check out and then back in again.

You could also book through CRO if you can get the same room cheaper but because they are 2 different systems, they cannot link the ressies. You can have both MS and CRO note that you have reservations with both and hope that you won't have to move but they will not guarantee it and you'd still need to check out and then back in again obtaining new room keys.

I've done it a couple times and am doing it again for my weekend nights at VB next month and had no problems ***didn't have to move or check out and back in** as I made our ressies with the member discount through MS at DVC. Not sure how much sucess anyone else has had doing it through CRO though.

Oh, should add that MS will only release rooms for cash when they think they won't be able to get them booked on points so you just need to call and check with them as to availability. The other thing is that if you are booking more than 1 room they will only book 1 cash room as the member needs to be staying in the room to be eligible.
