I ahve rented points and I asked him to book a 1 bedroom boardwalk view but when I confirmed, it said it was a pool/garden view?

CAn't you request BW over P/G view? Can you see anything good from a P/G view top floor? Is it a wonderful spot? :confused3

My MIL will be stying in that room with my two DD's (8, 11) so I want them to love the view. My MIL doesn't understand why we are even staying onsite, nevermind not an all-star room. How great will their room be?

The Boardwalk View is a guaranteed booking category. If you indicated that view as your first choice, and the confirmation indicates otherwise, it sounds like all of the BW View rooms are booked for your dates.

If the member is cooperative, you could ask him/her to place you on the waiting list for the BW View. That way, if a reservation for a BW view that matches your dates is cancelled between now and your trip dates, you will be automatically upgraded to the BW view.

Most of the Pool / Garden view rooms have very nice views. They include rooms that overlook the main pool (Luna Park w/ the clown slide), the Quiet Pool and the canal that runs between the resort and MGM. From some rooms you can even see Tower of Terror or Fantasmic off in the distance.

If you want a top floor, I would also make sure that is specified as a request on the reservation. Requests are just that...requests. There are only so many rooms with a particular view or location, and the resorts will do their best to accommodate the preferences of folks checking-in on any given day. But remember if 20 people checking in all want top floor, and there are only 5 rooms available, someone will be disappointed. This is the case regardless of the resort, amount paid for the room, or whether the room is booked on DVC points or cash.

Regarding the room itself--you will love it.

You'll have a washer / dryer in the room, whirlpool tub, balcony, full kitchen, separate living room and bedroom...very nice accommodations. Just be aware that a One Bedroom unit has a King Size bed in the bedroom and a sofabed in the living room. This unit is equipped to sleep 4, and that includes two people on the sofabed. Cots / rollaways are not available.

Have fun!
