Question about renting points and date changes?

I have been renting points from a friend I made on the boards since 2006 and it has always worked out great!!

My question is what if I go ahead and book for the end of May in November at OKW and then WINTER is a bear again and I would have to change my dates??

As long as I know by say Feb then she would be able to change my stay for me without penalty wouldn't she? I know the resort I am booked at may not be available and I may have to change resorts, but I could deal with that and if it was more points then I would owe her the difference? Correct?

Just want to get all my ducks in a row before I book something with her for this up coming year.

Last day of school is May 12th, but after last years winter I am a little gun shy!
We really want to be there for the 24 hour Summer kick off if they have it again so I am thinking of booking for May 22nd...Hoping that gives me enough time for snow days.....

After looking at 2015 packages at Disney.com I am thinking renting is still a way better value for us...

I have never had to change my dates and I hope I don't have to this year....

I would ask that question of your friend- it would depend on their use year as well as availability. Since renting is an individual contract between you and the points owner it is up to how that person feels not how the board feels- some will do it and some won't, some may ask you to pay more for it, it just depends on how they feel about it.

Yes I get that and I have mentioned this scenario to her before and she just said as long as their is availability and let her know as soon as I know??

I was just wondering if others had experience with changing their dates on rented points.

Just worries me to secure something and then have to change it...I think she would be ok with it and I will find out about her use year...If I did change it would only be for the next week so that would should be ok for her points.

I will email her and talk to her about it before I make any decisions. Can't book till November anyway.

What if there is nothing available for the new week you want. What will you and your friend do then? Will you want to cancel all together? Is she willing to do that? Will she then be stuck with points she can't do anything with?

I think some of the issue here isn't if there IS availability and you change, I think it is if there is NOT availability and what your plan is if that happens.

I would never cancel on her.....I would have to make it work if for some reason nothing was available.
I would know by Jan how snow days were going and I plan to book toward the last possible dates for the built in days...So chances are nothing would change....
Her and I have worked together for a long time.....
She knows she can trust me and I trust her. That is the nice thing about renting from her.
