We have AP's for the first time this year and we want to renew. They expire on Dec 31st. I want to get the most time out of them - should I wait to renew until like Dec 30th? Or is that cutting it too close? I just want to avoid any new fees. How do you guys do it?

Renewing now won't change your expiration date, if that's what you're worried about. If you want to use the payment plan, there is no deposit required for renewals, so you can do that, and they'll apply the renewal discount for your new pass level.

Oh that's great! Yes, that's exactly what i was worried about. I just didn't want an earlier expiration date for next year! Thanks!! :)

What is the price to renew an AP? We got the deluxe one last year through a really good deal that DVC had at the time.

I live in SoCal and make monthly payments on mine and they said as long as you renew before it expires you don't have to pay anything extra! I'm not sure how much it would be to pay for it up front though....

For deluxe it's the current gate price minus the $40 renewal discount.

I have a question about AP too. I have the pass this year and it expires May 31, 2015. I will not be going back until around Oct. 2015. I dont want to pay for all those months I am not using it. So I would just not renew and sign up again in Oct. right? Then I would have 12 months from October? Would I keep the pass card I have now and have it be the same pass or would I have to get a new card?

Just want to make sure this is how I should do it.

We did this back in 2012. Our passes expired in May, we bought AP vouchers right before the price increase and then redeemed them in September. The APs expired in September 2013. We got new cards, but ours were dated (unlike the newer ones). So, I'm not sure about the cards...

Definitely get a new AP. The paltry renewal discount is not worth it when you're not going for months. I think you'll get a new card.
