We will be heading back to WDW for one night after our September cruise. I am wondering what will be the best and fastest way to get back to our resort in order to maximize our time in the parks that day. For those of you who have used Disney transportation to get back to WDW after your cruise, what time did you arrive at your WDW resort? Would it be better to hire a limo in this case? I'm just trying to figure out all our options and determine which will be best. Thanks to all for your help!!

The buses (DCL transfers) don't start leaving the port for the resorts until 9:00. It takes about an hour to and hour and half to get to your resort (depending if your bus goes to your resort first or last). If you want to be there earlier, then you need to do some form of private transportation.

The fastest way is to hire a limo, and that may even be less expensive than DCL depending on how many people in your party. First DCL bus will get to your resort late morning (10-11), if that's early enough.

Or there are numerous car services with regular cars that are less pretentious than a limo.

We are using a limo. When you factor in how much DCL charges and how valuable missed time is at the parks it was a no brainer for us. It was only slightly more than a private car and more comfortable with a larger family.

And have more luggage room. The three of us with 4 bags and a carryon and backpack each ended up with one carryon and all backpacks in limo itself with us. Our grand marquis at home holds the 4 bags and carryons in the massive trunk.

The company said we needed the limo vs a towncar (Lincoln towncar, grand marquis, and crown Vic are all the same basic body) because of luggage. They were wrong.

Does anyone know if they offer transportation from the Miami port back to wdw?

You would think they'd have at least one Disney bus from Miami would boost the WDW visits and I know I'd be booking it in January if available

One bus load is a rounding error for Wdw visits on any given day, and they'd likely run empty in one direction. It really is a 3.5-4 hour trip, so if they did one to bring cruisers down, they'd be doing 6AM resort pickups, and then leaving Miami with the return after 10AM, and having to hold cruisers after all off until the bus was there

Depends on how many people and how much luggage. We usually get the private van shuttles our TA schedules it all, decent price.
