Question about pool hopping and resort fitness centers

We are DVC members staying at the BCV in November. I was thinking about signing up our DS7 for the 2 hour Pirate Adventure Cruise that leaves from the GF. I was wondering if the pool hopping for DVC members applies only to other DVC resorts, or would be permitted to use the pool at the GF? Also, would we be permitted to use the fitness center?

Yes, but you have to call to make sure it's availble when you are there.

As long as you aren't there for Thanksgiving when pool hopping is blacked out for DVC members.

I think there's a difference between pool hopping and the fitness center. Pool hopping is a DVC perk, so long as you're staying in a DVC resort and the pool to which you want to hop isn't at capacity, and it isn't a blackout date.

However, I don't think the same applies to the fitness centers. You may be charged for a day pass if you try to use one at another resort.

We called the GF to find out. They knew about pool hopping and that's free, but there would be a $12 a day charge (pp)to use the fitness center.

I fitness Center hopped (if there is such a thing). I was staying at BWV and used SSR, BCV, and VWL fitness centers. I just showed my DVC member card and a current room key-card and used the facility. I thought that was a DVC perk! Has that changed? Hven't been to WDW in year.

There's also a kid's cruise from the Yacht Club, might be more convenient for you. They go around Crescent lake looking for treasure. It's also two hours and includes lunch, seems pretty similar to the GF one. I got the info from Allears, if you are interested.

at DVC resorts it is - but not at the GF. (not a DVC resort)

Thanks for all the information!! I guess if we do the GF one, we will just hang out at the pool. But I am going to look into the YC kid's cruise. That definitely would be more convenient.
