Question about photos taken by DCL photographers

DH and I sailed on a RCI cruise this past summer and on 3 of the nights (semi-formal, formal, and one other night) they had several different backdrops set up in the atrium. You could go to all, none, or just some of the backdrops to have your picture taken.

What I really liked was that at EACH of the backdrops, they took at least 2-3 poses of you. The next day when we'd go to check out these photos, it was GREAT to have so many poses and backdrops to choose from. Unless you're all professional models it's not always easy to get that perfect shot in just one click of the camera :p

So my question is: Do the DCL photographers take several different posed shots of you at EACH backdrop? I assume you can pose at all or any of the backdrops. Is this correct?

Thanks for answering this for me! It'll be DH, 2 DSs, and myself, so it definitely may take a few different shots to get one "good" one out of the bunch! :teeth: I really would like to have several good professional photos of us from this cruise!

On the formal nights they took several shots at each "station" there are various backdrops set up that you go to. On the non formal night it was a "quicky". Infact if I recall correctly they did family shots, then just DH and I and then just DS and several poses (three or four) of each.

HI SEASPRAY!!!!! (waving frantically!!!) Remember me?? We met up at Cinderella's Royal Table in May '01.

As for the pics on the cruise - we found that the photographers were great -- you could go to any/all/none of the backdrops and they took at least 2 poses each time. We were extremely pleased with the posed photos we had taken, but even more than that we were thrilled with the candid shots the photographers took of DS and DD - at the pool, at Castaway Cay, etc. The candid photos were excellent!!

Have fun on your cruise!!!!

do they take pictures on the 3 night cruises? i don't think there's a formal night on the 3 night.

Hi!! :wave2: Yes, I absolutely remember you!!!! How are you??? :sunny:

Thanks for the info on the photographers. I had no idea that they also took candid shots as well. Hmm....my DSs will both be teens by the time we cruise next summer, I wonder if they happen to take candid shots of the older kids too??? I know the teen lounge is off-limits to parents after the first day, so even though we'll have our digital cameras with us, I'd love for the ship's photographer to capture some candid shots for me. It's about time I update the picture of my DSs that I have down there in my signature. That was taken about 2 1/2 years ago and (especially my older DS), they've changed a LOT since then!

I hope you have a great cruise, too!!! :boat:

The photo of my DD in my avatar was taken during dinner one evening, one of the ship's photographers came up to the table got very close and took this photo, it is one of my favorites from the whole cruise, DD just sat there and smiled.

Walking around Shutters, I saw many other candid shots of other children and families, pocketbook beware!!!
:hyper:
